We have extensive expertise and experience in the field of waterways engineering and, as key players in the ongoing development of this discipline, enjoy a formidable reputation in the national and international scientific community.
Section Infrastructure Mangement (B4)
The section Infrastructure Mangement of the Federal Waterway Engineering and Research Institute develops an asset management system for waterway constructions of the Federal Waterway and Shipping Administration of Germany. The focus is an early identification, evaluation and prioritization of required repair measures. However, high-quality data, targeted preparation and a structured as well as transparent approach are necessary for the achievement of this goal. The main task in the research group is to deliver know-how of waterway constructions, the investigation, analysis and compilation of information as well as simulations to develop the impacts and effects resp. consequences to identify vulnerable parts of the infrastructure with high consequences.
